Es Mejor Saber

Círculo de la Hispanidad is collaborating with the Latino Commission on AIDS on an interesting new project. "Es Mejor Saber" (Spanish for "It's Better to Know") is a social network testing program that uses "Promotores de Vida" (Spanish for Life Promoters) to recruit people in the Promotor's social network to be tested. The network can consist of their friends, family, drug using network, etc.

People at risk for HIV are unparalleled recruiters for this program. If anyone in their social network tests positive, they can access early medical care and benefits for HIV positive persons. People with early diagnosis of HIV can keep themselves healthier.

As a "Promotor de Vida" a person will receive: training that will enhance their personal and professional skills; information on issues related to HIV like access to resources, coaching sessions, gift cards for their participation, and MetroCard for transportation to sessions.

For more information please contact Juan Badia at (516) 478-6775 or via email jbadia@cdlh.org. This program is oriented to the Spanish speaking population; please call us to schedule a presentation with your organization.
